What Is a Cannabis Social Club?

A Cannabis Social Club (CSC) is a private association made up of members and governed by its own internal rules. It is not a business open to the public. Each club sets its conditions and keeps control of admission decisions.

The key idea is that this is not a commercial relationship between a business and its customers. The club operates as an association formed by members and sets its own internal rules.
That is why understanding what a CSC is does not automatically tell you the conditions of a specific club.
What does private mean?
It means the club does not work like an ordinary business where anyone simply walks in as a customer.
The association has its own rules and decides how new members can join.
How is it different from a shop?
A shop sells to customers. A CSC is based on an associative relationship between the organisation and its members.

And from a coffeeshop or dispensary?
No. They are different models.
If you have visited a coffeeshop in Amsterdam or a dispensary in another country, do not assume that a Cannabis Social Club in Spain works in the same way.
What does becoming a member mean?
Being a member means that the association has admitted you according to the conditions that apply at that club.
Being interested in a club or requesting an invitation does not mean that you are already a member.
